Atmakara Vritti.

In a bamboo forest, the bamboos move in the wind,
rub against one another and produce fire which burns down the
parent trees. So also Knowledge born of Maya burns Maya to
ashes. Maya remains only in name like a hare's horn. Therefore
the sages declare it non existent. Moreover, the very name implies
its unreality. The names are Avidya and Maya.~Advaita Bodha Deepika.

Similarly Self-inquiry is done when one is Self-ignorant and
the fire of Atmakara Vritti develops and it destroys all other
ignorant vrittis of the mind.Atmakara Vritti also belongs to Maya but once its function of destroying the ignorant vrittis
is completed it also disappears.When cotton is exposed to
Sunlight it is not burnt but when its light is focussed through
lens cotton is burnt.Similarly Self-ignorance is not directly
removed by the light of Pure conscious being Brahman because it is benign in nature but when it is focussed through
Atmakara vritti which is the result of intense Sadhana
the Self-ignorance takes to its feet.After Self realization
even Atmakara vritti also disappears.
